“Letters from the Big Man”  Screening – June 17th, 2 PM, LPCA.  Feature.  “Watching Hydrologist Sally Smith’s every move is a seemingly gentle Sasquatch or Bigfoot, the mythical ape-like creature that is alleged to inhabit the Pacific Northwest.”  $10

“Rise” Screening – June 17th, 6:00 PM, Palace Theatre.  Documentary.  “‘Rise’ measures the impact of a terrible plane crash on the families of the victims and those who were charged with the task of helping to rebuild the sport of figure skating.” $10

“Sleepless in Lake Placid” – June 17th, 8:30 PM, LPCA.  Showcase.  The films created by the students during their 24 hour filmmaking competition are screened to win a jury award, audience choice, best actor and actress. $10

Panel Discussion: “A New York State of Mind.”  June 18th, 10 AM, LPCA.  Industry professionals discuss why location matters as much in filmmaking as in real estate.  Free.

Youth On-Camera Acting Class.  11 AM, June 18th at the LPCA. Learn the subtle but necessary differences to give honest, believable, on-camera performances.  Ages 10 to 16.  Taught by Kevin Craig West, who has appeared on both stage and screen and won awards as a filmmaker.  $35 fee to be paid at the door.

“New York Short Film Concert,”  June 18th, 1 PM, LPCA.  Showcase.  NewYork’s longest running shorts program exhibits new and classic short films, considered “the world’s best.”  $10

“The Saints Are Coming”  June 18th, 1 PM, Northwoods School.  Work-in-Progress Documentary.  A look at the St Lawrence University hockey team, the “Saints,” as they pursue victory on the college circuit.  Free.

“Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation,” Screening – June 18th, 3:30 PM, LPCA.  Feature.  A shot-for-shot remake of the classic film created over seven years in the 1980s by three audacious teenagers some hail as “better than the original.”  With Q&A = meet the filmmakers!  $12 Advance Tickets Available.

“Dogfight,” Screening – June 18th, June 18th, 6:15 PM, LPCA.  Feature.  “Fresh out of boot camp, young Marines come up with a sadistic idea for a competition they call a ‘dogfight’ on their last night before shipping out to Vietnam.”  With Q&A PLUS scenes from Nancy Savoca’s new movie, ‘Union Square,’ starring Mira Sorvino. $10

“The Last Days of Disco,” Screening – June 18th, 8:30 PM, LPCA.  Feature.  “The cutthroat, bourgeois nightlife of Manhattan just before the fall of the disco craze.”  With Q&A PLUS scenes from Whit Stillman’s new comedy, ‘Damsels in Distress,’ starring Greta Gerwig and Adam Brody.  $12

“The Blood in This Town,” Screening – June 19th, 12:00 PM, LPCA.  Documentary.  “Economically depressed Rutland, Vermont takes charge of its destiny by coming up with projects that boost the local economy.”  With a special Community Building Forum to present ideas for all small town growth and achievement.  $10
